Preparing the research paper presentation: 10 tips
- Your presentation was written directly in English to avoid typos, e.g., « abc » instead of “abc”.
- All slides are numbered.
- The first and the last slides are identical and state the full reference of the research paper you’re presenting and your name, i.e., there is no “Thank You” slide!
- All references to previous research mention the author’s name / authors’ names and the paper’s publication year, e.g., (Sarangi 2015).
- Slide 2 clearly introduces the scope of the research, the research question and the paper’s highlights (if mentioned).
- Slide 3 summarizes previous and current research related to the paper’s research question.
- Your presentation includes a description of the methodology used by the author.s and the procedures used to collect the data.
- Your presentation provides a clear presentation of the data set.
- Your presentation presents the conclusions and limitations of the paper.
- Your own conclusion should state what makes this specific paper relevant and assess the study’s generalizability.
