Preparing the research paper presentation: 10 tips

  1. Your presentation was written directly in English to avoid typos, e.g., « abc » instead of “abc”.
  2. All slides are numbered.
  3. The first and the last slides are identical and state the full reference of the research paper you’re presenting and your name, i.e., there is no “Thank You” slide!
  4. All references to previous research mention the author’s name / authors’ names and the paper’s publication year, e.g., (Sarangi 2015).
  5. Slide 2 clearly introduces the scope of the research, the research question and the paper’s highlights (if mentioned).
  6. Slide 3 summarizes previous and current research related to the paper’s research question.
  7. Your presentation includes a description of the methodology used by the author.s and the procedures used to collect the data.
  8. Your presentation provides a clear presentation of the data set.
  9. Your presentation presents the conclusions and limitations of the paper.
  10. Your own conclusion should state what makes this specific paper relevant and assess the study’s generalizability.
